How do I go about getting my windows double glazed in a listed building? Where do I start?

  1. Firstly we recommend getting in touch with us. A few questions from our listed buildings expert can quickly ascertain the viability in getting approval. There is no precedence set for double glazing, each application will be treated under its own merits.
  2. We can then supply you with a window / door guide quotation on what we believe would be the best option and most likely path to getting double glazing approval.
  3. We will then liaise with our heritage specialist who will look at the application side of things. He will then give us his opinion on the likely hood of an approval, this may involve speaking with the local council heritage team.
  4. We can then provide a detailed quotation for your new windows / doors and also a quotation for the listed building application. Some clients may have an architect in place who will only need our assistance with section drawings and expert advice.
  5. Listed building application can take anywhere from 8 weeks – 12 months or sometimes longer in a couple of instances, depending on the complexity and the historical importance of your property.
