The remit for this challenging job was to copy the original windows point for point, whilst adjusting the rebate size to accept and weather high performance Slimlite Double Glazing. To enable the Job scaffold was required as the windows were fitted externally. The installation caused some issues with making good the tiling and the installation of new lead trays.
The windows were constructed from Accoya. Our Joinery team worked on these windows and the balcony French doors for six weeks. Challenging but rewarding, the guys came out and viewed the finished installation, which shows the pride our guys take in their work. Also, it is nice to see the finished product, factory sprayed glazed and installed. To finish of the job the full length Espagnolette bolt (Edwardian original) was refurbished at our workshop and then re-fitted. Why did we not just fit a new one? The original ironmongery has a lot higher brass content than modern ironmongery and you cannot replicate that original authentic look! It’s this attention to detail that keeps getting us recommended by the Architects and client.
Many of the original sash windows were retrained at the rear of the property. These were renovated, draught proofed and decorated by our in house team.
